We are very happy to announce that five of our CMM researchers have been awarded the prestigious ZonMw Open Competition grant!

🔬 Nalan Liv will investigate how pancreatic cancer cells reprogram their endo-lysosomal system to survive, which could lead to new therapeutic opportunities.

🫁 Stefan Prekovic, Ph.D. will study if and how microplastics contribute to lung cancer, potentially identifying new strategies for prevention and treatment.

🎯 Madelon Maurice will focus on optimising and gaining deeper insight into their novel targeted membrane protein degradation approach, to develop more effective cancer treatments with fewer side effects.

🔄 Paul Coffer will explore how metabolism and transcription drive early embryonic development, with important implications for congenital disorders and tissue regeneration.

🧬 Jeroen de Ridder will develop a genomic predictor to improve donor liver selection for transplantation. This could increase the number of viable donor livers and improve transplantation success rates.

Congratulations to all! We are looking forward to following the developments and discoveries that will result from these projects.
